Precision medicine for
the oncology
of tomorrow.
We research oncogenic RAS signaling pathways and develop innovative therapeutics for cancer patients with unmet medical needs worldwide.
Our Approach
Cutting-edge research for
better therapies
KRAS Research GmbH is a preclinical biopharmaceutical company with a strong commitment to patients with unmet medical needs worldwide. As a spin-off from Mainz University Medical Center, we rapidly translate cutting-edge research into novel precision medicine therapeutics.
Our goal is to develop next-generation therapeutics in oncology, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases, always keeping the patient at the center of everything we do.
“Our years of research into cellular signaling pathways can now be used to individualize the treatment of cancer and other diseases.”
Prof. Dr. Krishnaraj Rajalingam, Founder“We saw a chance to help patients, and we are seizing it.”
KRAS Research TeamRAS Pathway Mutations
One of our primary goals is targeting the oncogene “RAS (Rat Sarcoma),” which is mutated in a wide range of human cancers. Building on patented research by Prof. Dr. Rajalingam, we are developing small molecules for clinical use that target both the cell membrane and downstream oncogenic signaling pathways.
Advanced Bioinformatics
KRAS Research was founded as a joint venture with the global oncology company Indivumed, which maintains the world's most comprehensive cancer database. This partnership provides access to AI-powered analytics and extensive data from thousands of samples collected under identical, highly standardized conditions.
Translational Medicine
We combine rigorous, interdisciplinary approaches with the goal of advancing new compounds that address relevant oncogenic signaling pathways into the clinical stage. Through close collaboration between basic research and clinical development, we shorten the path from lab to patient.
Our Team
Univ. Prof. Dr. Krishnaraj Rajalingam is one of the most renowned experts in molecular signaling. As Head of the Cell Biology Unit (CBU) at Mainz University Medical Center and a member of the FZI and UCT, his research lays the foundation for novel therapeutics.
Dr. Hajime Yurugi is a molecular cell biologist focused on tumor biology and immunology. He leads the research lab team and brings extensive experience in experimental biology for research with clear biomedical implications.
Dr. Katarzyna Bogucka-Janczi leads Discovery Biology. She brings extensive expertise in mechanistic cell biology, contributes to target characterization and target engagement, and supports the development of the preclinical IND package.
Dr. Alastair Donald brings over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and has guided multiple drug candidates through to clinical trials. He previously served as VP of Chemistry at Proxygen GmbH in the field of targeted protein degradation.
Dr. Debbie Chang Strachan has expertise in cancer biology, pharmacology, and early drug discovery. Her experience at Novartis, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and several biotech startups makes her a valuable asset to the team.
Our Advisors
We are supported by an experienced team of interdisciplinary experts serving as advisors and consultants.
Dr. Michael Rowley studied at Cambridge and Harvard. He built up the Medicinal Chemistry group at MSD in Rome, where Isentress™ and Zejula™ were developed. He later headed Medicinal Chemistry at AstraZeneca Gothenburg. Since 2019, he has worked as an independent consultant with over 100 publications and 40 patents.
Dr. Manfred Schneider has been consulting in ADME/PK/TOX since 2021. He has over 25 years of international experience, is a board-certified toxicologist (USA), and previously served as Head of DMPK at Addex Therapeutics and Merck Serono, as well as a postdoc at the University of California, Berkeley.
Grow With Us.
We are a growing team looking for talented scientists and professionals who share our mission: to revolutionize the treatment of cancer and other diseases through targeted therapeutics.
If you want to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment with a direct impact on patient care, we look forward to your application.
